Clay Storseth fell in love with the holidays as a little boy at his family’s Christmas Eve gatherings, where a hundred or so of his Norwegian and Italian relatives shared their holiday traditions and the warmth and generosity of the season.

That same love of tradition and craft is what he and his team bring to Halloween: interior and exterior décor ranging from the playful to the frightful, and the whimsical to the macabre, for beloved clients across Los Angeles for more than two decades.

Homes, hotels, offices and public spaces

The Christmas Decorator provides interior and exterior holiday decorating, including Halloween, for private homes, condominium and apartment residences, fine hotels, hospitals, corporate offices and public spaces. Indoor and outdoor lighting, custom props and creatures, garlands, lighting and spooky atmosphere are our specialties.

We have served the communities of Los Angeles, Pasadena, Beverly Hills, Brentwood and Santa Monica as well as Hermosa Beach, Huntington Beach, Anaheim and Las Vegas since 1994.

Founder

The creation of holiday memories of beauty, charm and delight is the hallmark of his decorating service. He has brought his passion and talent to private homes, estates, public spaces and corporate and municipal families in Beverly Hills, Brentwood, Santa Monica, Pacific Palisades, Pasadena, Newport Beach, the Napa Valley, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Amarillo, Dallas and Manhattan.

His family of longstanding clients includes some of the foremost talents in the music, film, theatre, television and art communities, as well as Fortune 100 companies and their top executives, and the Peninsula Beverly Hills, the Montage and the Fairmont Miramar Hotels, the Los Angeles Children’s Hospital, the Metropolitan Water District and The Fine Arts Building.

Clay designed the Christopher Radko L.A. Showroom for several years, as well as holiday displays for Saks Fifth Avenue and many other retail stores and wholesale showrooms. As a special events designer he has created and executed his own designs for the Emmy Awards, Entertainment Tonight, People Magazine, the Mondrian Hotel, Hewlett Packard and the Beverly Wilshire Hotel.

Joined 2007 · Large-scale outdoor installations

Nick Salamone joined the company in 2007. Before that he owned Off Vine Restaurant in Hollywood for sixteen years, from 1991 through 2007. Located in a lovingly restored Arts and Crafts style bungalow on Leland Way, the restaurant was voted Los Angeles’ most romantic restaurant by the voters at Citysearch during Nick’s tenure.

Each of those years, Nick created the holiday décor for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s Eve, Valentine’s Day and Easter, and executed thousands of floral designs for the restaurant as well as numerous off-site special events. He now applies the skills he learned running a restaurant to overseeing our large-scale outdoor installations, Halloween included. Since joining, Nick has personally overseen major installations including Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, Platinum Equity, The Montage Hotel, The Fairmont Hotel and the Los Angeles Children’s Hospital. He served nine years on the Board of Directors of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and was a founding member of the Sunset and Vine Business Improvement District.
